Backups That Work When You Need Them To

Backup and recovery solutions designed for professional services firms across the DMV.

Backup Plans Break in the Same Four Places

What firms find out when the plan gets tested for real.

Backups that were never verified.

Most firms have backups configured. Far fewer have backups they’ve tested. The day you need it is the day you find out whether it works.

Recovery time nobody promised.

The backup runs, but how long the firm takes to come back online is rarely defined. The team finds out under pressure, when billable hours have already stopped.

Coverage
gaps nobody mapped.

Servers are protected. Cloud workloads, SaaS data, and the laptops the team works from often aren’t. The recovery plan ends up covering half the firm.

Storage costs that climbed quietly.

Every backup adds another month of retention to the bill. Without an archival plan, storage costs grow year after year until the contract renewal lands and someone notices.

Backup and Recovery Built to be Tested

Most backup plans look fine on the configuration page. Where they fail is the recovery, when systems are down and the gap between “we have a backup” and “we're back up” is suddenly billable.
We test the plan against the recovery time your firm needs before saying it's ready.

Backups That Work When Tested

Regular recovery testing across servers, cloud workloads, and end-user devices, so you know the plan holds before you need it.

Recovery Time Defined Up Front

Recovery time targets are agreed at the scoping stage, with the plan engineered to hit them rather than estimated against them.

Coverage Across the Whole Firm

Servers, cloud workloads, Microsoft 365 data, and end-user devices, all backed up under one plan with one consistent set of recovery times.

Costs You Can Plan Against

Retention windows tuned to your firm's regulatory obligations, with archival strategies that keep storage costs from climbing year after year.

Ransomware Resilience Built In

Air-gapped, immutable backups designed to survive an attack on your primary systems so a ransomware event doesn't become a recovery event.

A Risk-Free First Month

30 days of deployment with 100% of your fees refunded if the plan isn't delivering what we promised.

“From the very start of our partnership, they have consistently delivered outstanding, professional, and timely data security and tech support services.

Their proactive approach to helping us set up and maintain our data security measures has been a game-changer for our firm.”

What Backup and Recovery Looks Like at BASE

Four steps from scoping the plan to keeping it tested.

Backup Planning
& Scoping

Before any tools get configured, we assess your firm’s data environment and define recovery time targets that match what your business needs to keep running. The output is a plan scoped to your firm, not a generic template.

Backup Deployment

We deploy backup architecture across servers, cloud workloads, Microsoft 365 data, and end-user devices, including the immutable storage that protects against ransomware. Every component is configured to the recovery times agreed in the planning stage.

Regular Recovery Testing

Backups get tested on a regular cycle, not just configured and forgotten. We run scheduled recovery exercises against your defined targets, so the plan is verified before it ever gets used in earnest.

Ongoing Monitoring & Retention Management

The backup environment gets monitored continuously, with adjustments as your firm’s data and obligations change. Retention windows stay tuned to what your regulators require, and storage costs stay predictable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions when firms scope a backup and recovery plan with us.

How is a backup plan different from a recovery plan?

A backup is a copy of your data. A recovery plan is what gets the firm running again, with defined recovery times and clear steps for the team. Most firms have the first without the second. We build both.

Backups get tested on a defined cycle, not just at deployment. The most critical systems get tested quarterly, with the full environment exercised at least annually.

Microsoft replicates Microsoft 365 data across data centers for service continuity, but that’s not the same as a backup. Native retention windows are limited, and accidental deletions, ransomware events, and legal hold requirements can fall outside what Microsoft preserves. We deploy third-party backup specifically for Microsoft 365 so your firm’s data is protected against scenarios the native setup doesn’t cover.

Ransomware attacks target your primary systems and any backups they can reach. The defense is air-gapped, immutable backups. These are copies that ransomware can’t encrypt or delete, because they’re separated from the production network and can’t be modified once written. If an attack hits, the backup stays recoverable, and the firm comes back online from a clean copy.
